Children teach us more than we ever teach them.”

  Honoring Families and Children

Author pic 2.jpg

Hi, I’m Abby Dominguez—author of Heart-to-Heart with Abagaba and My Mom’s Incredible Voice. For over a decade, I’ve worked as a nanny and preschool teacher, caring for children, learning from them, and celebrating the small, beautiful moments that make childhood unforgettable.

Every story I write and every conversation I share on my podcast, Heart-to-Heart with Abagaba, is rooted in my deep love for children, families, and the caregivers who nurture them. Alongside writing and speaking, I also express my creativity through sewing and design—creating tote bags and accessories as another way to tell stories, honor function, and celebrate everyday beauty.

A Warm Hello

My Story

I began my journey as a young caregiver, quickly discovering that children have a way of opening our hearts, teaching us patience, and reminding us what truly matters. My years as a nanny and teacher shaped me in ways I will always cherish—and those experiences naturally blossomed into my writing and storytelling.

Moving from London to Philadelphia as an immigrant marked a profound turning point in my life. It was the city that embraced me and helped me find my place within the worlds of caregiving and education. The families I supported there changed my life and continue to inspire everything I create—whether through words, conversations, or design.

Over time, my creativity has taken many forms. In this current season, I’ve found myself returning to sewing and designing—working with my hands, embellishing, and creating pieces that reflect care, intention, and lived experience.

My Purpose

My mission is simple:

To uplift children, honor their voices, and celebrate the meaningful work of caregivers, parents, and educators.

Through books, storytelling, podcasting, and creative design, I hope to encourage wonder, connection, and compassion—the very things children teach us every day.

What I Create

Books

    •    Heart-to-Heart with Abagaba — a heartfelt reflection celebrating childhood and the lessons children teach us.

    •    My Mom’s Incredible Voice — a warm story honoring family, belonging, and love.

    •    50 Graces at 50 is a devotional-style collection of reflections on faith, healing, and becoming.

Podcasts

  •  Testimonies of Jesus Christ is a faith-centered podcast devoted to sharing real-life encounters with Jesus Christ.

Each episode offers a sacred space for lived stories of faith, healing, restoration, and hope.

  •  Heart-to-Heart with Abagaba recently reached over 2,500 streams and downloads, a milestone that reminds me how powerful it is when we share our stories, wisdom, and experiences with each other.

Each episode opens with a gentle conversation about children, parenthood, education, creativity, culture, and the “villages” that shape us.

  Fashion & Design

I create thoughtfully designed tote bags and accessories, often drawing from story, function, and personal expression. This work is rooted in creativity, care, and the joy of making something meaningful by hand.

Beyond the Books

I love connecting with communities through:

    •    School and library visits

    •    Read-aloud sessions

    •    Preschool and daycare storytime

    •    Parenting and caregiver conversations

    •    Author panels and podcast guest features

If your school, library, or organization would love a warm, heart-centered visit, I’d be honored to connect.

A Little More About Me | Officially Delegated | Grateful to Share

    •    Ghana has shaped my storytelling roots.

    •    I’m most at peace with a cup of tea and a child’s laughter nearby.

    •    I’m happiest when creating something that lights up a child’s imagination.

    •    I believe every child deserves to be seen, heard, and celebrated.

I’m honored to share that I’ve been officially selected as a delegate representing Arizona in the Ms. Senior World Pageant in November 2026, Biloxi, Mississippi. I am encouraged to uplift, inspire, and connect.

Ms. Senior World is a celebration of women who are 50 -79 years old, honoring their wisdom, experiences, and incredible accomplishments. It’s not just a pageant—it’s a platform for empowering senior women and showcasing their beauty and strength in every stage of life.

As part of this experience, I’m also honored to uplift and invite women ages 50–79 who feel called to step forward, use their voices, and represent the beauty of wisdom, life experience, and purpose. If this resonates with you, I warmly invite you to contact me for details.

This journey is one of community, courage, and connection—and I’m grateful to share it alongside women who feel called to step forward.

Creative Journey

Creativity has always lived in my hands.

Fifteen years ago, I designed and sewed garments that reflected my love for culture, storytelling, and self-expression. Life eventually led me into other seasons—motherhood, teaching, writing, and advocacy—but creativity never truly left. It waited.

After more than a decade away from sewing, I felt a quiet but persistent call to return. Not out of urgency, but out of alignment. The desire to create came back stronger, deeper, and more intentional than ever before.

Today, I am honored to design and sew three original pieces for Ms. Senior World—an interview ensemble, an evening gown, and a gown for a shared moment with delegates from around the world. Each piece is a reflection of growth, resilience, and the beauty of honoring one’s gifts at every stage of life.

This journey is not about perfection.

It is about purpose.

And the courage to say yes—again.
