teach them."

 My Story

I started my journey as a young caregiver, discovering quickly that children have a way of opening our hearts, teaching us patience, and showing us what truly matters. My years as a nanny and teacher shaped me in ways I’ll always cherish — and those experiences bloomed into my writing.

Moving from London to Philadelphia as an immigrant was a turning point. It was the city that embraced me, and where I found my place in the world of caregiving and education. The families I cared for changed my life and continue to inspire everything I create.

 My Purpose

My mission is simple:

To lift up children, honor their voices, and celebrate the beautiful work of caregivers, parents, and educators.

Through books, storytelling, and my podcast Heart-to-Heart with Abagaba, I want to encourage wonder, connection, and compassion — the things children teach us every day.

Heart-to-Heart with Abagaba

A Nanny/Teacher Reflection

A celebration of children, caregiving, and the small, sacred lessons found in the classroom and playroom alike. This reflection reminds us that every shared moment — from laughter to learning — shapes the heart of both child and caregiver.

My Mom's Incredible Voice

A Memoir of Honoring My Parents

A deeply personal story of family, legacy, and gratitude. Through words and memory, I honor the voices that guided me, and the enduring love that continues to inspire my work and my heart.

My Books

Beyond the Books

I love connecting with communities through:

    •    School and library visits

    •    Read-aloud sessions

    •    Preschool and daycare storytime

    •    Parenting and caregiver conversations

    •    Author panels and podcast guest features

If your school, library, or organization would love a warm, heart-centered visit, I’d be honored to connect.

Podcast

Heart-to-Heart with Abagaba recently reached 1,000 streams, a milestone that reminds me how powerful it is when we share our stories, wisdom, and experiences with each other.

Each episode opens with a gentle conversation about children, parenthood, education, creativity, culture, and the “villages” that shape us.

A Little More About Me

Ghana has shaped my storytelling roots.

    •    I’m most at peace with a cup of tea and a child’s laughter nearby.

    •    I’m happiest when creating something that lights up a child’s imagination.

    •    I believe every child deserves to be seen, heard, and celebrated.
